Liam

It seems fitting that I "announce" my Blogger blog with the "announcement" of my new nephew!  Liam Joseph was born on October 21, 2013 joined our family on November 5 through the beautiful act of adoption.  My sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and David, have been praying for a baby for many, many years now and God decided to finally answer their prayer this year!  I traveled to see this family-of-three on November 7 and I had the pleasure of taking these pictures for them while I was there, happily playing my role of "Aunt Melly".  I have entry upon entry in my journal with prayers for them as they have longed for this child. I love seeing God's faithfulness to my sweet sister in filling her heart and life with this little boy.

In preparation for this photoshoot, I made some drastic changes in the way prepped and shot these newborn photos and I am SO EXCITED about what my lens captured.  I will continue to learn all I can about photography, which is a medium of art that brings me great joy.  I have the itch to photograph again for clients!!!  In time, that will come.  Newborns is definitely my niche!!!  I absolutely love the art of newborn photography.

And now, please meet my sweet  Liam...

  3. He and this (your) family are precious, and these are beautiful photos. I wanted a newborn shoot for my littles, but they grow up too fast. I'm sure your sister will be thankful for these over and over again. :) What a sweet baby! I'm glad God answered your prayers!

    1. Thanks, Carla!!! Typically newborn shoots are prime between day 5 and day 10. These were taking about day 14. I don't know about you, but the last thing I thought about between day 5 and day 10 of my baby's lives was pictures!!! I thought about SLEEP!!!! Ha! It's definitely an intentional thought! I hope you are doing well with your brood!
