Photo-a-Day 2014: Day 23

This is a personal project I commence in January where I take a photograph of my children each day. This exercise stretches me as a photographer, as a mother, and as a journalist. This is my 3rd year on this project and I hope to continue it as the years pass.

Day 23
He heard the "Choo Choo" again this morning and looked out the window as if it was going to pass through our back yard.

We live about 2 miles from a train track, which is just enough distance to where we can hear the train whistle but it's not bothersome.  Adam hears it just about every time it sounds and announces it with a robust "Choo Choo!".

I love this look on his face in this image: such innocent wonder over the sound of a locomotive.  It reminds me of how George Bailey, from the movie classic It's a Wonderful Life, explains that the three most exciting sounds in the world are achor chains, plane motors, and train whistles.  I think my Adam would agree.
