Photo-a-Day 2014: Day 27

This is a personal project I commence in January where I take a photograph of my children each day. This exercise stretches me as a photographer, as a mother, and as a journalist. This is my 3rd year on this project and I hope to continue it as the years pass.

Day 27a
OK, so I *used* to have a picture of a naked baby butt for this day, but my husband and I decided to take it down out of respect for Adam.  But I just have to say, he has one cute little booty!

So, here's my second choice for the day.  It's really not that great of a picture when you first look at it, but there's a story behind it.

As I was pulling into our neighborhood, the kids asked me if they could run part of the way home.  We've done this before and the kids loved it (well, at least the older two did).  I also found that it was a good way to sprint their little legs off, exerting pent-up energy along the way before we got into the house.

I, by all means, obliged to their request;  I'd be foolish not to!

As they piled out of the van,  I quickly grabbed my camera and captured this one shot before I realized my camera settings were off.  By the time I fixed them, the older kids were gone in a flash, while Evan trailed behind sobbing tears of despair that he was left behind.

I am thankful for my editing software to salvage this sweet little moment of my kids darting down the road, watching them WILLINGLY run as fast as they could towards home.
